Network Infrastructure Review

An independent assessment of your existing network, cabling, switching, Wi-Fi, and security posture, with a prioritised recommendations report.

Key highlights

  • Physical and logical network documentation
  • Cabling, switching, and Wi-Fi coverage assessment
  • Security posture review, open ports, flat networks, default credentials
  • Prioritised written recommendations report

You can't improve what you haven't measured

Most businesses know their network has problems, slow Wi-Fi in certain areas, unexplained connectivity issues, security concerns that have never been properly assessed. What they don't have is a structured, documented view of exactly what's in place, what's working, what's not, and what needs to change first. A network infrastructure review gives you that picture, independently assessed by engineers with no stake in selling you particular hardware.

Who this is for

A network review is valuable for businesses that have grown their IT organically and want to understand what they actually have, organisations that have experienced recurring connectivity problems without a clear root cause, and businesses planning an office move or expansion that need to understand current infrastructure before designing for the new space.

What the review covers

Physical infrastructure

We inspect structured cabling, patch panels, server room layout, UPS provision, and physical port documentation. Poor cabling, unlabelled runs, excessive patch cable lengths, improper termination, is a common source of intermittent connectivity problems that never get properly diagnosed.

Switching and routing

We review the switch inventory, firmware versions, VLAN configuration, and uplink topology. Common findings include end-of-life switches still carrying production traffic, consumer-grade equipment in business-critical roles, flat networks with no segmentation, and spanning tree misconfigurations that cause periodic loops.

Wireless coverage

We conduct a wireless survey to measure actual signal strength, channel utilisation, and coverage gaps across your premises. The survey identifies dead zones, co-channel interference, and access points overloaded with too many clients. If you're considering a Wi-Fi upgrade, the review findings inform the design.

Security posture

We check for common security weaknesses: default credentials on network devices, open management interfaces exposed to guest or internet traffic, firewall rules that are too permissive, and flat network topologies that allow lateral movement. This is a configuration review against networking best practices.

Internet and WAN

We review your ISP connection setup, failover provisions, and how traffic is routed to cloud services. For businesses using Microsoft 365, Teams, or Azure-hosted applications, we assess whether the WAN configuration is appropriate for cloud-first workloads.

The output: a written recommendations report

The review produces a written report covering what was found, what it means for your business, and what we recommend, ordered by priority. Immediate risks are clearly labelled. Longer-term improvements are framed within a realistic budget and timeline. The report is written in plain English so it can be shared with management or a board that needs to approve remediation spend.

Book a network infrastructure review

A review of a typical office environment takes half a day on-site and produces a written report within five working days. The review is priced as a standalone engagement with no obligation to proceed with remediation work through Sentire. Contact our team to discuss your site and get a scoping estimate.
