What ZKTeco products does Sentire deploy and support?
Sentire deploys ZKTeco biometric access control readers (fingerprint and facial recognition), time and attendance terminals, door controllers, and the ZKTeco BioTime software for managing access rights and attendance records. We size, install, configure, and provide ongoing management of the full ZKTeco ecosystem.
How many users can a ZKTeco system manage?
ZKTeco devices scale from single-door readers for small offices to enterprise deployments managing hundreds of doors and thousands of enrolled users. The BioTime software supports unlimited user enrolment across connected devices. We size the deployment based on your door count, user count, and the features required (attendance reporting, payroll integration, etc.).
Can ZKTeco access control integrate with CCTV and alarms?
Yes. ZKTeco access control integrates with CCTV systems via I/O relay inputs and outputs, enabling a camera to automatically pull up the live feed at a door when a card is presented or an access attempt is made. Integration with alarm panels is possible via the same relay mechanism. Sentire designs and configures integrated physical security systems with ZKTeco as the access control layer.
How does the ZKTeco BioTime software work?
BioTime is the central management software for all ZKTeco devices. It manages user enrolment (fingerprints, facial templates, access cards), access rights (who can enter which door at what times), and attendance records (clock-in/clock-out events for payroll). It generates attendance reports that can be exported to HR and payroll systems. Sentire installs and manages BioTime as part of every ZKTeco deployment.
Is biometric data stored securely and in compliance with the Kenya DPA 2019?
Biometric data is a special category of personal data under the Kenya DPA 2019 and requires explicit consent for collection and strict controls on storage and access. ZKTeco templates are stored as mathematical hashes on the device and server, not as raw biometric images — the original fingerprint or face cannot be reconstructed from the stored template. Sentire configures access controls on BioTime to limit who can view biometric records, and we provide a data processing policy template for DPA compliance.
Can we restrict access to specific rooms or floors by department?
Yes. ZKTeco access control supports granular access rules: time zones (which hours each user can access each door), user groups (departments, roles), and individual exceptions. A finance department can have exclusive access to a server room while reception staff can access the front door only during business hours. Sentire configures and documents the full access policy during deployment and manages changes as staff or requirements change.
