Alerts that mean something
Standard motion detection triggers on everything: a branch in the wind, a passing car, a cat crossing the car park. The result is alert fatigue, notifications that get ignored because most of them are noise. Hikvision AcuSense uses deep-learning AI to classify motion events by type. Humans and vehicles trigger alerts. Everything else does not.
Hikvision AcuSense technology
AcuSense is Hikvision's edge AI engine, built into cameras and NVRs. It analyses video frames in real time, classifying detected objects as human, vehicle, or other. Only human and vehicle detections generate alerts, cutting false alarm rates by up to 90% compared to standard pixel-based motion detection.
Detection modes
Human and vehicle classification
Every motion event is classified. Alerts are generated only for humans and vehicles. Animals, insects, shadows, and environmental motion do not trigger notifications. Your security team only responds to real events.
Cross-line detection
Define a virtual line across any area. AcuSense triggers an alert when a human or vehicle crosses the line in the specified direction. Useful for perimeter fencing, fire exits that should not be used outside hours, and restricted zones.
Intrusion detection
Define a virtual zone within the camera view. An alert fires when a human or vehicle enters, loiters in, or exits the zone. Configure separate rules for different times of day. The system is active during business hours for standard monitoring and switches to high-sensitivity alert mode after hours.
Fast target search
After an incident, AcuSense-indexed footage lets you search for all human or vehicle events within a time window across multiple cameras simultaneously. Finding the relevant footage takes seconds rather than hours of manual review.
Perimeter protection
AcuSense is most effective for perimeter security. A camera covering a fence line, gate, or building exterior generates constant low-level motion from wind, light changes, and passing traffic. With standard motion detection, this environment produces hundreds of false alerts per day. With AcuSense, only the events that matter reach your security team. Night-time sensitivity increases automatically when configured for after-hours monitoring.
AcuSense on existing IP CCTV systems
