Know who is in your building and when

A physical key tells you a door is unlocked. It doesn't tell you who opened it, when, or how many copies exist. Biometric access control replaces keys with identity. A fingerprint or face cannot be copied, lent, or forgotten. Every access event is logged with a timestamp and a user identity, giving you a complete record of who entered every controlled door at every point in time.

ZKTeco: the standard for business access control

ZKTeco is the world's leading manufacturer of biometric terminals and access control equipment. Their fingerprint, face recognition, and card reader devices are deployed across offices, hospitals, factories, and government buildings. Sentire is an authorised ZKTeco partner, supplying and installing the full product range.

What a biometric access control system covers

Reader selection and placement

Not every door needs the same reader. A server room requires a different level of assurance than a main entrance. We assess each controlled point and recommend the appropriate ZKTeco device, whether a fingerprint reader, facial recognition unit, card reader, or a combination for high-security areas requiring two-factor authentication.

Fingerprint readers

ZKTeco fingerprint terminals are the most widely deployed biometric access device for offices and commercial environments. Fast verification, low false rejection rate, and a familiar user experience for staff.

Face recognition terminals

Touchless verification suitable for high-traffic entrances and environments where hygiene is a priority. ZKTeco face recognition terminals process identification in under a second and work under varied lighting conditions.

Card readers and keypads

Proximity card and PIN readers for areas where biometric enrolment is not required or where visitor access needs to be granted temporarily. Card credentials are issued and revoked centrally without touching the reader hardware.

Turnstiles and barriers

For receptions, car parks, and high-traffic entry points, ZKTeco turnstiles and flap barriers integrate with the biometric readers to physically enforce access. One person per credential, no tailgating.

Time-based access rules

Access control isn't just about who can open a door, it's about when. The ZKTeco management platform lets you define time schedules per user and per door. Cleaning staff access the building between 6am and 8am. The server room is accessible only during business hours to named engineers. Contractor cards expire at the end of their engagement automatically. These rules are set once and enforced continuously without any manual monitoring.

The audit trail

Every access event is recorded with user identity, door, and timestamp. The log is queryable and reportable. For a business that needs to demonstrate who was on-site during an incident, provide evidence to insurers, or meet compliance requirements, a complete access audit trail is the evidence base. Paper sign-in books and issuing of physical keys provides none of this.

Dual-use: access control and attendance

One installation. Two functions.

The ZKTeco terminals installed for access control are the same terminals that feed the BioTime time and attendance system. Your staff biometric enrolment serves both purposes. When an employee clocks in at the door, it is recorded as both an access event and an attendance record. One hardware investment, no duplication of enrolment effort.

Replacing keys and sign-in books

Most businesses that install biometric access control don't return to physical keys. The audit trail, the ability to revoke access instantly, and the elimination of key management overhead make the transition straightforward. Contact Sentire for a site assessment and access control design.
